No Sew Tshirt Bag {Tutorial}
Recently A Crafty Arab was fortune to collect a few tshirts after being a sponsor of the 2015 Arab Festival in Seattle. The Producer gifted our family with five tshirts but in the year since, my youngest has outgrown hers.
Today we turned it into a bag to store in the car door. It folds up nicely and is ready for our emergency stops for groceries after a day of carpool. We hope this pares our use of plastic bags to make our earth a better place to live.
Supplies
Tshirt
Circle template (we used a bowl)
Sharpie
Fabric scissors
Lay your tshirt on a flat surface. Take your round template, in our case a mixing bowl, and place it along the collar of the tshirt. Use the Sharpie to mark along the outer edge.
Use your Sharpie to mark along the arm lines.
Trying to keep the tshirt as flat as possible, cut along the neckline.
Do the same along the arms.
Take your Sharpie and make two inch lines along the bottom edge of your tshirt.
Holding your tshirt pieces together and making sure everything lays flat, cut along the lines.
Now you’ll need to turn your tshirt inside out.
Take the top cut piece and tie it with the bottom piece. In the photo below, this is A and B. Then do the same with the next two. This creates C and D. But do you see how there is space between the two ties now, where the arrow is? To get rid of that, you’ll need to take piece B and tie it with piece C.
Continue tying the upper and lower pieces together, then taking one of them and tying them with thier neighbor until all the knots are tied all the way across.
Turn your tshirt back right side out. It’s ready for the grocery store, laundry, or anything else!
