Eid Mubarak Suncatcher {Tutorial}

Day 28 of our Ramadan craft challenge was spent enjoying our first official day of summer vacation.  Today was the last day of school and we had some friends over to make sun catchers to put in our windows.

I had found these star aluminum foil shapes in the cooking aisle at my grocery store. I brought them home to craft with since I love using kitchen supplies in the studio.

Supplies

Aluminum shapes
Beads

We started by laying out our bead letters, making sure to lay them backwards. This way the front will be smooth.

Next we laid out our colored beads, placing sparkly silver in the center and red in the five points.

Our final step was baking our star and removing the foil once it had cooled down.

We added a suction ring to hang it from our window. You can also use thread or ribbon.

Here is what our Eid Mubarak sun catcher looks like, sparkling in our front window.
