My First Fast Award {Tutorial}

Fasting is hard when you try it. In fact, for most kids, it’s usually not successful the first time.

So it’s quite an achievement when it finally happens and honestly, should come with an award.

Making this simple and easy handmade My First Fast award ribbon will make your child feel even more exceptional.

Supplies

Felt in 3 colors
Glue gun
Scissors
Pen
Green marker
Wood disc
Pin back
Rhinestone stickers

I started by using the wood disc as a template to cut out the circle shapes in felt.

I need two larger identical discs and one smaller disc.

I also cut out three long pieces of felt. The tallest is one inch across and four inches long. I cut out two other pieces, making sure each was smaller then the first.  Once they were the right size, I cut a V shape into one end.

Now it was time to put my layers together. First I started with one of the larger discs, then the largest ribbon piece. I then added the other ribbon pieces and placed the second larger disc over the long ribbons. I made sure to add a little glue between each layer.

I added the smaller disc with a little bit more glue.

To color in the wood disc, I drew in a ribbon with blue pen and colored it in with the green marker.

Once I used the darker green, I realized I wanted a lighter green for the written part of the ribbon. I then wrote out My First Ramadan and added a rhinestone for the dot on top of the i. I then attached the wood disc to the ribbon with the glue gun.

The final step is to add the pin back to the back of the ribbon so my winner can wear it with pride.
