Arabic ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’ Nursery Rhyme {Resource}

I love to use the nursery rhyme Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star when I do Arabic story time every two weeks at our local public library.
We make our hands into fists and then open them quickly, to stimulate a bursting star. I have the kids hold their hands up high and do that while we dance in a circle.
I like to do this after a book or two to get the wiggles out. It’s very hard for young children to sit still for very long. This song is a wonderful way to allow them to run in circles for a few minutes.
This is the Arabic adaptation of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star:

Lali lali ya nadjmi
Fawq al ailam shu halwi
Basal nafsi shu inti
Dhawiya al ailam min hawli
Lali lali ya nadjmi
Fawq al ailam shu halwi
Dhawi nurik min hawli
Nurik fatah eyneihi
Midi khyutik la indi
Bisriri nami hadi
Lali lali ya nadjmi
Fawq al ailam shu halwi
Twinkle twinkle little star
Up above the world so pretty
How I wonder what you are
Light your light with beauty
Twinkle twinkle little star
Up above the world so pretty
Light your light around me
your light opened my eyes
Extend your sun rays to me
Next to where I am sleeping
Twinkle twinkle little star
Up above the world so pretty
You can download the song to sing with your little one here.
