Eid Crayon Resist Banner {Tutorial}

We have officially started the second half of Ramadan, which means that Eid Al Fitr will be here soon.

Eid Al Fitr is a celebration that marks the end of Ramadan. Eid is the Arabic word for festive or holiday and Fitr means to eat.

To start preparing our home, my middle daughter created an Eid sign from crayon resist and watercolor today. We did this last Januray when we made a Moon and Star version, but with oil pastel.

Our letters are written in a khatam symbol. A khatam is the Arabic word for eight point star and is seen quite a bit in Middle East architecture.

We used watercolor cards to make our banner double sided. If you are using watercolor paper, just fold it in half.

2 square pieces of white card stock
Double sided tape
Orange crayon

The intro photo is our banner on one side, here it is on the other side. The nice thing about this banner is that if you hang it in a window, you can enjoy it from outside and inside!
