Eid Sharpie Dot Vase {Tutorial}

A friend recently gave me this beautiful teal and gold vase.  I loved it but when I brought it home, I realized it still needed something.    I remembered a tutorial we had awhile ago using oil based sharpies and wondered if they’d work on a vase.

We made a vase that says Eid, which is Arabic for holiday or festive occasion, to use anytime we had a party at our home.  The process was so easy to do, we made another one that says Shukran, Arabic for thank you, to give to our neighbor as a gift.

Supplies

Letter stickers
Vase
Oil based Sharpie
Qtip / rubbing alcohol for cleaning

Center your sticker letters and add them to your vase.

Start adding random dots around your letters.  Keep them close to each other around the letters but going further apart as you go away from the letters.

Let the ink dry for a few hours and then carefully remove the stickers.

If you have any ink that seeped through, remove it with the q-tip and rubbing alcohol.  Place your vase in the oven and bake it for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

Allow your vase to cool before taking it out of the warm oven.  Add flowers to your vase!
