Ramadan Crafts Live with Amsmoon {Resource}

This upcoming Saturday, April 10th, 2021, A Crafty Arab will be hosting a Ramadan Live on Instagram with Amsmoon to discuss kids crafts to honor the special month.

Koloud Tarapolsi is the owner of A Crafty Arab, and Brooke Benoit is editor at Fitra Journal and designer of Brookolie Jewelry.

Koloud will be showing a few of the Ramadan lantern crafts for kids and Brook will be sharing crafts for teens.

Brooke is such a talented silversmith at Brookolie Jewelry, which focuses on using recycled sterling silver and other sustainable materials. Brooke also co-runs a youth center called Amsmoon where they craft hard!

Brooke will be sharing a couple of crafts they regularly make at Amsmoon and are loved by teens and tweens alike. They make great gifts and are super versatile.

Amsmoon serves marginalized youth faced with too many hurdles to achieve their life goals. One of the many ways Amsmoon is serving them is by starting a worker-owned cooperative. Being focused on social enterprise, they have created a plan for several tiers of local recycling programs. Currently, there is no formal recycling in their village in Morocco.

While the members have been working hard to produce products and prototypes, they don’t have the capital to register or contribute materials to the cooperative. Having professionally worked with some Amsmoonians on recent marketing, Koloud can testify to their talent and tenacity.

It would be great if our fellow crafters in the Crafty Arab community helped these young people reach this much-needed goal.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!
